Scholastic Book Fairs
Middle School Floor and Tabletop Book Displays

OVERVIEW
For years, all elementary and middle school fairs have received large metal foldout bookcases that were rolled out into an open area and displayed. At the end of the fair, they were easily folded back up and rolled out onto the Scholastic truck. During a Marketing-briefing meeting, it was decided that middle schools generating less than a certain amount of money in sales would not be receiving the traditional cases, but instead would receive floor and tabletop displays that can be easily set up around any area in the school.

APPROACH
With middle school audience being slightly older than elementary school, I aimed for a much edgier design that would appeal to both boys and girls. In searching for inspiration, I came across abstract art, colors and shapes and would appeal to a wide range of students. The aim was to be edgy and bold! The design had to be one that could go with any theme the school chose to have. Not too many colors that it takes away from the book covers, but enough to call attention and make students stop in their tracks!
RESULTĀ
Below is an example of what the tabletop and floor displays looked like in a fair environment. The theme this season was Enchanted Forest. Vines were used to wrap around the displays creating an immersive experience for everyone attending the fair!
